Hellas Verona, Riccardo Saponara’s arrival made official
Official: Riccardo Saponara is a new player of Hellas Verona
Following the purchase of Mboula, Hellas Verona has made official the arrival of Riccardo Saponara on a zero-parameter basis. The Azzurri outfielder, after being released by Fiorentina, signed a contract until June 30, 2024, with an option for the second year.
“Hellas Verona FC announces that it has acquired the sports performance of the player Riccardo Saponara, who has signed a contract with the Gialloblù club until June 30, 2024, with an option for the second year.
Born Dec. 21, 1991, in Forlì, Saponara began his career as a player in the Forlì youth sector in 2004 and made his professional debut in the 2008/09 season with the Ravenna shirt in Lega Pro. After moving to Empoli for four seasons, the midfielder played a season and a half at AC Milan, and in January 2015 he returned on loan to Empoli.
After two more seasons with the Tuscans, he moved to Fiorentina, which acquired him in the 2017/2018 season. Saponara then temporarily passed through Sampdoria, Genoa, Lecce, and Spezia, before finally returning to Fiorentina in his last two Serie A seasons. With the purple team, the Tuscan midfielder also played in the UEFA Conference League final last season, 2022/23.
