Razgatlioglu makes a confession about Valentino Rossi
Superbike centaur Toprak Razgatlioglu imagined himself a “Valentino Rossi-like” future: “I would like to become world champion again with Yamaha, and then I would like to do some car races. I love cars, I like to drive them. I would like to be like Valentino Rossi. I don’t think about Le Mans or GT3, maybe GT4 is possible.”
“In Turkey my big hobby is driving cars. I have the Mitsubishi Evo VI Tomi Makkinen, the red Mazda RX7 like the one in Fast #38; Furious and a 2018 BMW M3 V8 and a 2017 Audi R8 V10,” the Turkish driver said in an interview with the Chasin’ The Racin’ podcast.
Razgatlioglu also spoke about the current World Superbike Championship: “Ducati has made a big improvement this year, and Alvaro is a strong rider. They represent a good package. He almost always rides alone. I didn’t have big battles with him, while in 2021 with Rea I enjoyed every race.”
Difficult beginnings in Superbike: “I couldn’t ride the Kawasaki with Rea’s style, because in Superbike you have to lift the bike quickly after braking and then accelerate well. I was trying and I thought my career could end. I wasn’t very fast and in races I would finish 10th, 12th or 14th. But then in Donington I got my first podium and in Argentina another one. In 2019 I was a completely different Toprak, I made more podiums and in Magny-Cours I won the first two races.”
