F1, Max Verstappen books record at Italian GP
With the victory in Hungary, the Dutchman has now reached seven
Verstappen’s (and Red Bull’s) domination of this F1 season is impressive. The Dutchman is disintegrating every opponent and every record, confirming that he is the best driver in the world on the best single-seater around.
At the Hungarian GP came the seventh consecutive triumph for the two-time World Champion. A victory that allowed him to equal the records of Ascari, Schumacher and Rosberg, all of whom “stopped” at seven wins in a row. Now, however, Verstappen has in his sights the all-time F1 record of Vettel, who, in 2013, managed to win nine consecutive victories.
Verstappen already has a clear plan to achieve a record that would make him even more of a Formula 1 legend. Now he is called to impose himself on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, GP scheduled for next week. Then there will be his favorite, home GP, the Dutch GP (scheduled for Aug. 27, after the summer break). Next up, on Sept. 3, at the Italian GP at the historic Monza track, he could claim victory number 10 in a row, making him the F1 driver with the most consecutive wins. Is there anyone capable of stopping him? At the moment it doesn’t look like it. Hamilton had the chance right in Hungary, but, aided by a false start, everything went up in smoke. Verstappen does not seem intent on giving anything away to anyone.
