Trieste, a confirmation arrives in the outfield department
Luca Campogrande will be available to coach Jamion Christian
For the third consecutive season Luca Campogrande will wear the jersey of Pallacanestro Trieste: the official announcement by the Julian club and general manager Michael Arcieri came on Monday through the official channels of the club that will play in the A2 Series next year.
“Luca has already shown his potential as one of the best three-point shooters in Italy,” said Arcieri about the 1996 class. His footwork, quick shot release and the distance from which he can hit from make him a significant threat at any time of the game.”
“These characteristics, combined with the ability to mark all the outside players, make him an ideal “3#38;D” (3-point shooting and defense) player to contribute to the team,” added the Julian g.m. “We are excited to see Luca take another step forward in the growth of his game and we are thrilled to welcome him back to our basketball family.
Born in Rome on April 30, 1996, Campogrande is a 198-centimeter, 200-pound outside forward. He grew up in the youth sector of Sam Basket Roma, a historic Capitoline club with which he also won an Under 19 Elite title: he made his senior debut with Sam Basket and then joined Fortitudo Bologna at age 19.
With the “Effe” he played two seasons, winning an LNP Supercoppa, before moving, in 2017, to Poderosa Montegranaro, again in Serie A2: one season and then the next agreements, first with Avellino (an experience conditioned by corporate vicissitudes) and then with Brindisi, where Campogrande collected 20 appearances.
In the summer of 2020, a brief move to Virtus Roma, before the capital’s club retired: after which came the signing with Reyer Venezia, where Campogrande collected 19 appearances with an average of 8.5 minutes, 3.6 points and 1.1 rebounds with 53.5% from three-point range and 92.3% at the free.
His arrival in Trieste dates back to the 2021-2022 season, in which Luca, stopped by several injuries, got to take the court from mid-season onward. A specialist in shooting from beyond the arc, Campogrande will have a chance to get back into the game again in an A2 league by making his contribution to Jamion Christian’s team.
