Umag, Matteo Arnaldi in semifinals, beats Lehecka

Matteo Arnaldi’s adventure continues in the Umag ATP 250. The Ligurian tennis player prevailed in a comeback over tournament number one Jiri Lehecka in three sets with a score of 3-6 6-2 6-4, winning the first semifinal of his career on the ATP major circuit.

In the first set, the Czech player managed to impose his game by winning the first set. However, the Italian did not lose patience, continuing to play clean tennis. In addition, the opponent’s decline allowed the Ligurian player to place a double break and closing the second set on 6-2.

In the third partial Arnaldi managed to maintain a good level of play, managing to break Lehecka’s serve in the seventh game and closing the match on 6-4, after just over two hours of play.

In the semifinals, the Italian will face the winner of the match between Alexei Popyrin and Dino Prizmic.
