F1, Carlos Sainz looks forward to Sprint Race
Carlos Sainz’s words after the Sprint Shootout of the Belgian GP.
After finishing third in the Sprint Shootout of the Belgian GP, Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz spoke to the microphones of “Sky Sport F1” about his feelings ahead of the Sprint Race.
“Today I managed to put on a good lap and show my true potential after a couple of mistakes yesterday. I’m happy with third place but not because of the gap to pole, because we were really close. I did the lap early compared to whoever was after me,” began the Spanish driver.
“The feelings are positive overall, especially with the intermediates I went fast even in Q1. Even in the dry we did not perform badly. I think Red Bull aside we are competitive,” added the Ferrari driver.
“I want to make the podium in the Sprint Race. We will have to see where Checo and Mercedes will be, because I think they will be the main opponents. It will be tough for Perez in the Sprint, but with the race pace Red Bull has, he will still be an opponent to be feared,” Carlos Sainz enthused.
