F1, Charles Leclerc does not hide disappointment: ‘I was from pole’
Charles Leclerc’s words after the Sprint Shootout of the Belgian GP.
After finishing fourth in the Sprint Shootout of the Belgian Gp, Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc did not hide his disappointment over the mistake he made during the last timed lap.
“I am disappointed because we wasted a great opportunity. I made a mistake without which I would have been on pole. The feeling today was very positive and the car behaved very well, but in turn-9 I made a mistake and lost four tenths. It’s a shame because the first and third sectors were very good,” the Monegasque driver told “Sky Sport F1” microphones.
Despite his fourth place in the Sprint Race, Charles Leclerc will start from the first box in tomorrow’s race, thanks to the five-position penalty for gearbox replacement to be served by Max Verstappen.
