Milan, medical examinations and signing with Besiktas for Ante Rebic
It is medical examination and signing day with Besiktas for now former Milan player Ante Rebic, who is expected in Istanbul today. The two clubs have reached an agreement for the 29-year-old Croatian striker’s arrival in Turkey, and it is not ruled out that in a few days his Milan teammate Junior Messias may not join him at his new club.
The reasons for the Croatian’s departure are basically two: his poor contribution to Pioli’s project for a couple of seasons now and also the need to relieve Milan’s coffers of a 3.5 million euros net salary per season. The deal is expected to cost the Istanbul club 500,000 euros immediately and 2 million in the form of bonuses.
Ante Rebic arrived in Italy in 2013-2014 in the ranks of Fiorentina, where he also stayed in 2015-2016, with a spell at Leipzig in between. From January 2016 he played half a season at Verona, then moved to Eintracht Frankfurt, where he stayed for three seasons, winning a German Cup.
In August 2019 the landing at AC Milan: in four seasons he won a Scudetto, in 2021-2022 scoring some decisive goals, and totaled between all competitions 123 appearances and 29 goals. Now the farewell to the Rossoneri, who no longer consider him essential for their immediate future.
