Zoran Savic baffled by Nikola Mirotic’s choice. And he calls Olimpia into question
Zoran Savic, the general manager of Partizan Belgrade, is speaking out about Nikola Mirotic’s failure to join the Bianconeri.
“Divisions have always existed, he cannot divide anyone. Divisions in sports are nothing new,” he told mozzartsport.com, referring to the athlete’s words. “Everyone cheers for their own team, people are always divided by fan affiliation. It is not something specific to Serbia. With us, he had jokingly referred to his experiences with Real Madrid and Barcelona, however, then you all saw what happened in the end. He would not have divided anything here.”
“I am only sorry that everything was presented as a matter of life and death. This is not normal. This is not life and death, this is sports and it should stay within the limits of sports. You should not talk about the prime minister cheering for someone, that others get more money from the state. The players should go out on the parquet and show who is the best. It was a bad image,” the former Virtus added.
“When the rumors emerged about Olympiacos and Olimpia Milano, no one was talking about us. And that for him was a sign of great seriousness on our part,” Savic concluded bitterly.
