Fiorentina: clear 4-0 at Grosseto, Arthur also in goal
A clear victory, complete with a goal from the newcomer.
Fiorentina had no problems in the friendly against Grosseto that inaugurated the August for the violets. Vincenzo Italiano’s team in fact defeated the biancorossi 4-0 in the clash between the Tuscan sides played on Tuesday. And among the scorers stood out Abdelhamid Sabiri, who had just arrived from Sampdoria, and especially the Brazilian Arthur taken over from Juventus.
For Fiorentina, still a bit packed on the legs but strong-willed, Cabral tried from the very first minutes to show off. Castrovilli was also dangerous on two occasions, then Ikoné and Biraghi were inaccurate. Only in the final minutes of the half came the first two purple goals: in the 41′ Brekalo signed the lead, repeating in the net a ball that he himself had sent header against the post. Then in the 44th minute came the long-awaited goal by Arthur, who was good at collecting a loose ball in the box on an insistent action by Brekalo himself.
In the second half the usual pinwheel of substitutions, with Mandragora immediately dangerous on a free kick and then Martinez Quarta inaccurate with a header. Fiorentina’s third goal came in the 71st minute, thanks to a splendid free kick by Sabiri. In the last quarter of an hour Kokorin also appeared again, but it was Bonaventura who grazed the cross after a great personal action. In the 88th minute it was then Jovic’s left-footed shot that closed the match, fixing the score at the Zecchini stadium in Grosseto at 4-0 Gigliato.
Arthur arrived from Juventus “on a temporary basis with the right of redemption.” The transaction cost Fiorentina about 2 million euros, 20 instead those needed for the eventual redemption. Last season, on loan at Liverpool, the Brazilian midfielder took the field only once, in the Champions League against Napoli, before suffering a serious injury.
