MotoGp Silverstone: Alex Marquez wins Sprint, Bezzecchi beaten. Very bad Bagnaia
Alex Marquez has won the Sprint race of the MotoGp British Grand Prix: at Silverstone, the Ducati Gresini team rider finished ahead of everyone after the 10-lap short race on the British track, imposing himself ahead of another Ducati, that of Marco Bezzecchi of the VR46 team.
An Aprilia was back in third place, with Maverick Viñales finishing ahead of Ducati rider Johann Zarco and teammate Aleix Espargaro. The other Ducati of Jorge Martin is sixth, then the KTMs of Jack Miller, Fernandez and Binder and the Aprilia of Oliveira.
Big disappointment for Luca Marini and Pecco Bagnaia. Valentino Rossi’s brother finished 11th, while the world leader and reigning world champion just 14th, 25 seconds behind the first and even behind teammate Enea Bastianini.
For Bagnaia obvious difficulties due to the particular conditions of the track, wet in some places and dry in others: the Piedmontese was never able to find rhythm, and it is a wake-up call ahead of Sunday’s race. Also very bad were Marc Marquez and Fabio Quartararo, in 18th and 21st position respectively. No Japanese bikes in the top 14 at the finish line.
Order of finish (top ten).
