Simone Anzani leaves training camp: all updates and future announcement

Through the voice of medical director Mariano Avio, Volley Lube released the first updates on the condition of white-and-white center Simone Anzani after he left the Italian national team’s training camp in Val di Fiemme.

The athlete will undergo further investigations to complete the clinical-diagnostic course already started for a suspected heart problem.

Thus Mariano Avio: “Before having a clearer picture of the situation we have to wait for the outcome of all the investigations requested and prescribed by Coni, including genetics on which we will know more by the end of August. We are confident, Simone will come out of this umpteenth test. He is a great man, a true fighter, he will put this moment behind him as well.”

“We are close to the athlete, we understand his suffering in having to go through all this just on the eve of the European Championships, but we are confident that Anzani will get back on his feet and will be a point of reference for the national team next year at the Olympics and for Lube as early as the 2023/24 competitive season.”
