The words of Yeman Crippa

Good performance for Yeman Crippa in the DKRace staged Sunday morning at Monza Park. The European 10,000 track champion took the win in the 10 km road race with a personal best of 28:02, improving by fifteen seconds on the 28:17 he got when he finished second at the BOclassic in Bolzano last New Year’s Eve. The lead over the other participants is wide: completing the day’s podium are Badr Jaafari (Atl. Casone Noceto, 28:47) and Marouan Razine (Esercito) with 29:41. The Italian record for the distance, which belongs to Pietro Riva and Yohanes Chiappinelli (27:50), endures. Crippa will return to altitude in Livigno to continue training ahead of the 10,000 European Cup in Pacé (France) on June 3 and other seasonal events, destination Budapest World Championships (Aug. 19-27).

“It was a good race – the words of the Fiamme Oro’s Trentino, Italian record of 27:10.76 in the 10,000 on track – I started ‘right’ and in the last 2 km I lost a bit of rhythm, I also tried to increase it in the final but the course was slightly uphill and I felt a bit tired. It was definitely a good test, the road to the European Cup is going well, I am happy. Now I’m going back to altitude and continue the preparation.”
