Jannik Sinner ‘destroys’ coach Cahill; coaching goes viral
A video of Jannik Sinner’s workout with the coach who will follow him in the upcoming Toronto Masters 1000, Darren Cahill, has gone viral.
During the world No. 8’s training session, Cahill placed a number of ball containers at different points on the court so that his student would improve his aim on serve: each time Sinner hit the target, his coach had to do a series of push-ups, under the amused gaze of his student.
The Australian tennis player, 57 years old and still in excellent shape, performed the “penance” several times because of the Blue’s accuracy, and with each box hit he increased the number of push-ups. Reporting the news is Mundo Deportivo.
The Australian coach’s special training serves to motivate the San Candido tennis player to further sharpen his aim on serve, which is to be one of Sinner’s best weapons in the coming years. Cahill has coached such champions as Agassi, Hewitt, Halep and Verdasco in his career.
