Lazio beaten in Girona, biancocelesti close in ten

Lazio came out of the Girona Municipal Stadium defeated, where the local team playing in the Spanish La Liga won 2-1, thus confirming its undefeated record this summer against the Italians, given the 1-1 draw against Napoli a few days ago.

After a first half without any particular excitement, it was Viktor Tsygankov who unlocked the match, five minutes after the start of the second half. The match went further downhill for the hosts in the middle of the second half: in the 66th minute Mattia Zaccagni got himself sent off for added penalties, four minutes later Christian Stuani made it 2-0 and, in fact, put the seal on the match.

There is, however, time for the first biancoceleste goal by Taty Castellanos, who arrived just from Girona during the summer soccer market: however, it is not enough to threaten the home advantage, which holds out until the referee’s triple whistle.

It is the second consecutive defeat in a friendly for Maurizio Sarri’s team: last Thursday, in fact, the biancocelesti had also lost to Aston Villa, which was able to impose itself with a clear 3-0 in the friendly played in England, in Walsall.
