Salernitana looks to Monza for a striker

After the arrival in goal of Benoit Costil and the pending announcement of midfielder Austin Martegani, Salernitana is preparing to acquire a reinforcement in the offensive department as well. The Granata, in fact, are looking for a replacement for Krzysztof Piatek, who returned to Herta Berlin at the end of the season and has now landed at Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir.

To replace the Polish center forward, the Campania club’s management reportedly has its eyes on a Monza striker: Andrea Petagna. As Corriere dello Sport reports, in the last few hours the agent of the Italian striker would have had contact with one of the collaborators of Morgan De Sanctis, sporting director of the Campani. In the coming days the one between the two clubs could take place.

However, on Petagna there is not only the interest of Salernitana: the Campani in fact will have to deal with Cagliari, which would have put in the crosshairs the former Napoli and Milan player after the injury of Gianluca Lapadula, who underwent surgery on his ankle and out for a long period.

From next July 1, it will be possible to deposit the contracts for the players who will make up the teams’ rosters for the 2023/2024 season.
