Atalanta, debut with a bang for Gianluca Scamacca
Atalanta-Pergolettese 3-0
Debut with a bang for Gianluca Scamacca. The Roman striker only needed eight minutes to score his first goal in the Atalanta shirt. The Nerazzurri beat Pergolettese 3-0 in a friendly match, and it was the Azzurri center forward himself who sealed the momentary double. Zapata and Muriel scored the other two goals for the orobici.
Scamacca started from the bench, with Gasperini choosing Zapata, new signing El Bilal Touré and Latte Lath in attack. It was precisely the Colombian bomber who signed the lead at the end of the first half with a violent diagonal shot, after he had already made himself dangerous in the 18th minute with a turn just wide.
In the second half Dea’s attack changed skin with the entry of Muriel, Lookman and Scamacca. The former Sassuolo man takes little time to make his mark: in the 53rd minute he enters the box with power and beats the visitors’ goalkeeper; two minutes later the crossbar denies him a double after a nice header from a cross by Zortea. In the final, Muriel drops the hat trick with a pinpoint touch that kisses the post and goes into the net.
Gasperini’s men will return to the pitch on Saturday night, expected to play a luxury friendly against Juventus at the ‘Dino Manuzzi’ Stadium in Cesena.
