Lecce, Pantaleo Corvino no-nonsense on Morten Hjulmand’s future
Lecce, Pantaleo Corvino no-nonsense on Hjulmand-Sporting Lisbon negotiations
During a press conference, Lecce’s Dt Pantaleo Corvino, among other topics, spoke bluntly about the imminent move of Morten Hjulmand to Sporting Lisbon.
“Morten in Lecce nobody brought him to me. I had to go to Admira to ask for him. He proved his worth and afterwards informed us of his willingness to play on certain stages. We did not put him on the market, it was he who informed us a polite way of his intention,” began the Giallorossi dt.
“We said that if there was an opportunity he would not be incedible for us. We negotiated with Sporting to find an agreement. Once found, the boy was allowed to seek an economic agreement in turn with the new club. He is doing a negotiation and I hope he can take this opportunity because there were no other situations that could create others,” added the former Bologna DS.
“We did not make the price we think he might be worth, we went below the real price to please Morten. That’s because if you see players in the same role have also gone for higher figures, players that for me are not worth as much as Hjulmand. If I see that Fazzini is valued at 20 million euros and Frattesi was sold for 35, then I say we sold him to do him a favor and fulfill his request to play in certain stages,” Pantaleo Corvino concluded.
On the incoming side, however, the Salentini’s Dt is reportedly working to find an agreement for Kaba, a 22-year-old midfielder from Valenciennes whose contract will expire in 2024.
