ATP Cincinnati, draw: Jannik Sinner can take a major rematch
Jannik Sinner, rematch with Francisco Cerundolo on the horizon
The Toronto tournament is not yet over, but the ATP Tour runs fast already looking ahead to the next level event ahead of the U.S. Open, the ATP Masters 1000 in Cincinnati, a tournament for which the men’s draw pairings have been determined.
Four Italians are on the draw, one of whom, Jannik Sinner, is already in the second round: for the South Tyrolean, among other things, an important challenge looms, against Argentine Francisco Cerundolo: for a rematch of the eighth final played in Rome that rewarded the Argentine, the latter will, however, have to overcome the hurdle of the first round, in which he will face a player from the qualifiers.
Complicated crossroads for the other representatives of the Tricolor: Matteo Berrettini will face Felix Auger-Aliassime, Lorenzo Musetti will make his debut against Daniel Evans and, if he passes the round, will have to face Daniil Medvedev, while Lorenzo Sonego does not yet know the name of his opponent in the first round (he will come from the qualifiers) but already knows that in the second round he could face Taylor Fritz (committed against Jiri Lehecka).
All the Italians are in the lower part of the draw, the one with Novak Djokovic as the main seed. On the other side is Carlos Alcaraz, who boasts the No. 1 seed and is a potential opponent only in the finals of both the Italians and Nole.
