PSG reinstates Kylian Mbappé in the team
Paris Saint Germain has decided to reintegrate Kylian Mbappé into the squad, who will thus return to training with the group led by Luis Enrique in the aftermath of the French champions’ lackluster Ligue 1 debut, a 0-0 home draw against Lorient.
“After very constructive and positive discussions between Paris Saint Germain and Kylian Mbappé before the Psg-Lorient game,” the club announced, “the player was reinstated this morning for first-team training.
The striker was in the stands yesterday at the Parc des Princes watching the match, along with newcomer Ousmane Dembélé. A sign that something had changed in the tug-of-war with the club, which has lasted more than a month. Mbappé had not trained with the first team since he announced his intention not to renew his contract with the Parisian club that expires in 2024.
In recent weeks, Mbappé had participated in only one of the five friendly matches played by the Parisians and did not take part in the tour in Japan. On the other hand, the farewell of Neymar, who is close to striking a deal with Saudi club Al Hilal, which has offered him a multimillion-dollar contract, now seems almost certain.
