Alex De Minaur commented on his loss to Jannik Sinner in the final in Toronto: “It was one of those days when you have to do everything perfectly. It’s not that I played so bad, it was mostly him being very good today,” the Australian admitted to the Sydney Morning Herald.

“I needed to raise my level and I couldn’t do it. Sometimes you really have to say ‘he’s too strong,’ but now I can see things clearly, I know I’m going in the right direction, my level is good.”

In his press conference, De Minaur analyzed the match, “He is one of the players who in the past has challenged me the most on clay because of the power of his shots.
