Marc Marquez, Ktm now has other plans
The future of Marc Marquez
There has been a lot of talk in recent weeks about a possible transfer of Marc Marquez, but during the ServusTV program Sport and Talk from Hangar7, Ktm motorsport director Pit Beirer denied it: “I already have five riders under contract for four positions. It’s getting really complicated. It’s a compliment for us to be associated with Marc Marquez and to hear words like that coming out of his mouth. Thank you very much but at the moment we still have our own programs and projects to put in place.”
“We want to improve again and fight against these eight Ducatis,” he added. “I’m afraid Marc will not be in our lineup next year, as I said, he has a contract. We discussed it and he gave us a clear answer and it stays that way. But that does not change the fact that we wish him every success so that he can quickly return to the top. Of course on our side we will make life as difficult for him as possible.”
Marc Marquez took stock of the situation with Autosport ahead of the MotoGp restart: “I could think and evaluate, especially when you are serene at home you can think about what happened in this first part of the season, what you did wrong or what you did right. One of the things we are going to change for the second part is the way we approach the races. Obviously I started the year, and I won’t deny it, with the goal of fighting for wins and the world title, but for one reason or another we are not ready, and I can’t approach the second part of the season thinking about fighting for the top positions. I had too many injuries, it was impossible to get into a rhythm and have confidence. So the goal for this second part of the season is to maybe be less explosive, but with the goal of trying to continue to grow the project, as well as regain confidence in myself and race pace. It’s been since Sepang 2022 that I haven’t finished a long race, although in Le Mans I only had one lap to go, but it’s impossible to get into a rhythm like that. I’m human, and although I know I’m going strong on the bike, having the race pace is something else.”
