MotoGp, VR46: Luca Marini calls for clarity
Luca Marini calls for clarity
Saturday to forget for Luca Marini: climbing up to sixth place during the MotoGp sprint race in Austria, the Mooney VR46 Racing Team rider was touched by Jorge Martin, an incident that forced him to retire.
Bitter comment on the sidelines of the race from Valentino Rossi’s brother: “A different ending from what I hoped for, we found a good compromise in the last free practice and we were very fast in Q1. In Q2, with only one tire then, we did very well. The P6 on the grid is not bad and today the sprint at the start was almost perfect, a start to be repeated tomorrow to be able to play with the strongest for a good result. The contact then ruined everything.”
“I’m sorry, from my point of view – added Marini, who did not quote Martin directly but preferred to turn his criticism to the race direction -, the real problem is that the regulation in some points is not clear even at the level of penalties. Maybe we should all confront this together.”
Marini, born in 1997, is in his third season in MotoGp: until this Saturday, his best result is the second place he got in Texas this year, behind Alex Rins. Also this season, he achieved another top-three finish, in the Sprint race in Argentina.
