Roma trembles: El Bilal Touré knockout may ward off Duvan Zapata
An injury could disrupt market plans.
Duvan Zapata at Roma is in the balance, but he may not yet fade away. The Giallorossi management continues to search for a center forward to gift to Jose Mourinho, and in recent weeks the deal for Atalanta’s Colombian seemed closer and closer to being finalized. However, the Nerazzurri have meanwhile lost newcomer El Bilal Touré, who could be absent for several months due to a not insignificant problem with his rectus femoris.
For this very reason, the Giallorossi’s path to Zapata appears more complex. Gian Piero Gasperini, who had reminded in a press conference how the player is still for all intents and purposes Atalanta’s, could even line him up as a starter in Dea’s Serie A season opener against Sassuolo on Saturday afternoon at the Mapei Stadium. And market indications to that effect are contradictory.
In fact, ‘Tuttosport’ stated that Duvan Zapata’s departure from Bergamo at this point is to be considered unlikely. Of a different opinion ‘Sky Sport’, according to which the dialogue on the player between Roma and Atalanta still has not stopped and there are still margins for the deal to go through. Before having a more detailed picture of the situation, however, it will be important to verify his employment against Sassuolo and any post-match statements by Gasperini and the Nerazzurri managers.
