Andy Roddick speaks out on Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner
Former tennis player Andy Roddick commenting at Tennis Channel microphones on Carlos Alcaraz’s performance in the Cincinnati final against Djokovic analyzed the performance of the Spaniard, who dropped in the last part of the match.
“I think he is not too much to criticize. He also played three sets in the semifinals against Hubert Hurkacz, and three sets in the quarterfinals with Max Purcell. That took its toll in the long run.”
Roddick does not believe that Alcaraz has any particular physical limitations, and in proving it he cited some past matches, including one with Jannik Sinner: “Carlos is also growing in that respect, against Djokovic he played 3 hours and 50 minutes. With Jannik Sinner at the last Us Open he had problems after the two and a half hours, with Norrie the same last year also in Cincinnati.”
“And then at Roland Garros this year with Djokovic, around two and a half hours. Now we are almost at four hours, he is improving. That’s progress.”
