Gaia Sabbatini è a fury: "Inhuman Badness"

After failing to make it to the 1500-meter final at the World Championships in Budapest, Italian middle distance runner Gaia Sabbatini è lashed out with a post on Instagram: """You have to go hard!", "You have to prove yourself!", "You can’t let anyone down!", "You have to make it to the final!". These are a part of the thoughts I had before my semifinal, counterproductive thoughts. I experienced this competition badly and I am so sorry, but the sorrow I feel for myself".

"I worked hard these past months for these thoughts to disappear and I also succeeded. This year my approach to racing è changed and I started having fun, smiling, enjoying the moment. After the injury in February, it already felt like only a victory to be back competing. In the semifinals the lightheartedness that accompanied me in the other competitions è disappeared. My expectations were so high and my brain whispered to me: "Either you go to the finals or nothing". I was not able to handle this thought, I was not able to interpret the race that would be an opportunity to be able to run strong. È it went like this; and I am still eating my hands. The anger è a lot and I am sure I will use it` for the future".

"Nothing è lost, this experience has taught me A LOT. And you keyboard lions take a bath in goodness and self-criticism becauseé you are of inhuman meanness. I thank all the people who spent nice words for me and stood by me. Only those who dare to do it fly, and I am ready to dare" concluded Sabbatini.
