Us Open, Jannik Sinner wins d'authority; against Lorenzo Sonego
Jannik Sinner won by d'authority the derby against a tenacious Lorenzo Sonego, valid for the second round of the Us Open, the fourth and final Slam of the season. The tennis player from San Candido è imposed himself on the Piedmontese player with the scores of 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 in just over two hours of play: in the third round he will face the winner of the challenge between the Argentine Etcheverry and the Swiss Wawrinka.
Sinner è started strong right away and got the break in the third game. The South Tyrolean è was solid at bat and a good Sonego è never managed to scratch him: the first set è ended 6-4 for the world number 6.
Second set: sudden acceleration of the San Candido athlete, who immediately found the break in the first game taking an immediate lead. Sinner dominated the court, while Sonego tried hard to resist the blows of Italy's number one, without ever being able to trouble him at the serve: in the seventh game the South Tyrolean netted another break, closing the set then on a quick 6-2.
In the third partial once again Sinner è started strong in the early games. Sonego saved a break point in the first game, but surrendered his service in the third, paving the way for victory to his compatriot, who was always unplayable on the serve shift.
