Jonathan Rea to Yamaha

Jonathan Rea has signed a two-year contract with the team Pata Yamaha Prometeon WorldSBK.

Here is the new experience that awaits the six-time world champion after nine seasons in the Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK with which he won his six world titles, as well as 100 successes: in 2024 he will take the place in Yamaha of Toprak Razgatlioglu, who will switch to BMW next year. The Northern Irishman will share the box with Andrea Locatelli, who is under contract for the same period, with the two currently playing for third place in the standings.

After nine seasons with Kawasaki, Rea moves to Yamaha: the one in Iwata will be his third home in WorldSBK. His World Superbike career è began in 2008 at Portimao, then became a regular presence in 2009, winning 15 races with Honda before switching to Kawasaki. Rea in WorldSBK boasts outstanding records: six titles, 104 wins with Kawasaki, 256 podiums in all (214 with Kawasaki) and many more. With Rea’s move to Yamaha, a’era really closes: together they want to sign more records.
