F1, Charles Leclerc open-hearted about Carlos Sainz
Charles Leclerc’s words ahead of the Singapore Gp
.
On the eve of the Singapore Gp, Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc è expressed himself bluntly about the relationship with his teammate Carlos Sainz.
"It would be a lie to say that the standings don't interest us and that there is no rivalry between us, but the real priority now is the growth of the car. Carlos did a great job in Monza and è he is in great shape. This è is good for the whole team" began the Monegasque driver at the microphones of "Sky Sport F1".
"It's hard to know, because on low downforce circuits we seem to be strong while on high downforce ones we suffer more. We may have some difficulty on this track, so è it is complicated to say in which position we will be" added the Ferrarista.
"This is a street circuit and we hope that the driver can make a difference and get a good result for the team. This new layout could help with overtaking. The track will beà faster, but not so fast that we can use the wing of Monza" continued the number 16 of the Maranello team.
"We come from a weekend where we were the second force and we know that this weekend will be different. I think in the end we will be very close with Mercedes, McLaren and Aston Martin. The 2024 car will be a different car than the one we are using today, where a lot of information and concepts that we have learned this season and are still figuring out will converge. My job è to give 100 percent in every condition. It's clear that I would like to find myself in the conditions where I can always fight for the win and the podium, but weekends like Zandvoort and Monza are still nice becauseé you have the feeling of taking steps in the right direction" concluded Charles Leclerc.
