A big city party in the name of sports, music and entertainment: this will be the CUPRA GHOST PADEL – DARSENA DERBY scheduled in Milan from Friday, September 22 to Sunday, September 24. Thanks to a scenic floating playground in the beating heart of the Navigli, Ghost Padel will be the absolute star of the weekend! THE ’EVENT – An’unmissable opportunity to worthily celebrate the closing of the’summer, the season par excellence of fun, which this year also coincides with Milan Fashion Week, which has always been a central event in the’Milanese agenda for its international relevance.
The event will also allow people to do good: part of the proceeds will in fact be donated to the Io Tifo Positivo project of Comunità Nuova onlus, which supports education in the values of sports, first and foremost mutual respect. The Milanese evening will be animated by exciting challenges of the new format that accentuates spectacularity and rapidity of execution of the most popular sport of the moment.
The new rules introduce elements of unpredictability thanks to special plays designed specifically for Ghost Padel: “Spectre” allows players from the same team to double-tap the ball before throwing it back into the opponents’ court, “Spook” awards three points to the team that hits one of the 30-centimeter diameter round targets glued on the glass of the opponent’s half court while the pair that wins the “Thriller” point wins the game in case of a tie. These are the main, but not the only, innovations of the game that is played on a completely dark court, where the only visible elements are the perimeter lines, the ball and the players’clothing.
In homage to the colors that have always been synonymous with the city’s sports passions, the players will be divided into Rossoneri and Nerazzurri teams: the protagonists of the challenges on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 will be VIPs and showbiz personalities, while on Sunday 24 the grand finale will feature some legends of the two Milan teams.
The link between soccer and padel è has always been very strong, as evidenced by the passion shown by many athletes who – at the end of their careers – have abandoned the classic shoes to grip the racket and become testimonials of a new sport, which they have helped to make popular.
