Max Verstappen also dominated the third free practice session of the Japanese Grand Prix, the sixteenth round of the 2023 Formula One World Championship.
At Suzuka, the world champion set the best time of 1:30.267 ahead of Lando Norris second in 1:30.507 at 240 thousandths and Oscar Piastri third at 288.
Fourth position for Sergio Perez with a gap of 737 thousandths from his teammate, fifth for Charles Leclerc in 1:31.022 at 755 thousandths from the top, ahead of Carlos Sainz, sixth in 1:31.137 at 870 thousandths.
