Atalanta beats Cagliari, Fiorentina goes through Udine
Atalanta-Cagliari 2-0 and Udinese-Fiorentina 0-2
The two 3 p.m. matches of Sunday’s fifth day of Serie A ended with victories for Atalanta and Fiorentina, who beat Cagliari and Udinese, respectively, with the same result: 2-0.
At Gewiss Stadium the Nerazurri took the lead on 33' with Lookman depositing into the net a kissing assist from De Ketelaere. In the second half, newcomers Muriel and Pasalic pack the doubling: the Croatian midfielder duets with the Colombian striker on the edge of the box and slips Radunovic with a precise diagonal left-footed shot.
In Udine, the Viola went ahead on 32'with Martinez Quarta who, perfectly found by Bonaventura, beat Silvestri with a precise right-footed shot into the corner. In the second half, the Friulians pushed in search of an equalizer but Terracciano overcame himself more than once and Lucca ate a goal on an empty goal. In the final Bonaventura punished the hosts with a right-footed shot to the first post from the edge of the area, signing the final 2-0 for the guests.
Atalanta and Fiorentina climb to 9 and 10 points, respectively, in the upper reaches of the standings, while Cagliari and Udinese remain stationary on 2 and 3 points, respectively, in the penultimate and third-last positions.
