NFL, record-breaking Dolphins: 70 points trimmed off Broncos
Well 10 TDs scored, five on running and as many on passing
The regular season NFL matchup between the Dolphins and Broncos will remain in history for a long time. The reason? Miami won the match, in front of its own fans, with a resounding 70-20. An outstanding and, of course, historic achievement. To find a franchise capable of putting up at least 70 points in a single game you have to go back to 1966 with Washington (72) to New York’s detriment.
Miami scored as many as 10 total TDs, five on rushing and as many on passing (first franchise to do so in NFL history's history). But it doesn't end there: è the second team to put up more than 700 yards on offense in a single game after the Rams back in 1951.
"When you’re ahead, that may not be enough. In the offseason we talked about the adversity that can happen in a game and, some adversity; comes when you only have a two-point lead. The guys have taken that to heart", the words of McDaniel, coach of the Miami Dolphins, surely the hottest franchise in the entire NFL (three wins out of as many games played).
