The national volleyball team è arrived in Brazil where from next Saturday to Sunday, October 8, it will be engaged in the qualifying tournament for the Paris Games.
To peel off one of the two passes available in Pool A, Italy’s coach, Ferdinando De Giorgi, confirmed 13 of the 14 athletes who won the silver medal at the European Championships, with the only new addition being central player Lorenzo Cortesia who replaced Roberto Russo.
Giannelli and his teammates will be called to play seven matches – the first of which will be played next Saturday against the Czech Republic (start 18.30, Italian time) -, in the historic Ginásio do Maracanãzinho, the facility that in 2016 saw Italy win the Olympic silver medal and where in 1990 the Azzurri led by Julio Velasco, with De Giorgi on court, won their first world championship.
