The words of Tommaso Giulini

On the eve of the challenge against Fiorentina, valid for the seventh day of Serie A, Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini spoke on the sidelines of an event at the Uffizi Gallery, in Florence: "It will be a complicated season, there is no doubt and we knew it from the beginning. The first matches did not go very well, from the’last place in the standings we can only go up and we can do it thanks to a granitic and increasingly cohesive group, as I reminded them in so many moments, first and foremost also in the lunch before the evening in Bari that saw us return to Serie A".

" I am convinced that these guys will give other great satisfactions to the fans,” he added. “All this will be possible again also thanks to our leader, Claudio Ranieri. The honorary citizenship of Cagliari è just the’last tribute he deserved to receive from the Sardinian people: his competence, leadership, abilityà to give serenityà to so many boys who are neophytes in the category are decisive".

On the new stadium, he commented: "The process undertaken is nearing completion, in two months we should get to the Public Utility, so è it is plausible that sometime between 2023 and 2024 we will be able to demolish the old Sant’Elia. There is a lot of talk about stadiums in Italy, but we are still extremely behind, so much so that Sports Minister Andrea Abodi has called for the appointment of an extraordinary commissioner. È it is important to bring to completion what has been concretely done in recent years, and then to urge the region of Sardinia and President Solinas because now all that is missing is this public contribution for the economic and financial balance of the work. È already in the financial, it would be enough to formalize the program agreement with the municipality to make a further and decisive step towards an innovative and totally sustainable stadium".
