Carlos Sainz out of Q3 in Qatar: “I’m not surprised”
An extremely disappointing result, which, moreover, had been expected.
Carlos Sainz, 12th after qualifying for the Qatar Grand Prix, explains the difficulties he had with his Ferrari at Losail. The Spaniard, moreover, admitted that in the end missing the landing at Q3 was not even a surprise given the level of his single-seater during a very complicated Friday.
"It was difficult qualifying from the beginning, in particular I struggled so much with the balance. On the rear there was a lot of instability, especially when the temperatures dropped,” Sainz explained to the official Formula 1 channel. With this asphalt I had only managed to find grip during free practice, in the heat".
"That is why I am not at all surprised that I did not qualify for Q3. I really suffered a lot. I hope to find a turnaround ahead of the Sprint Race, but I am sure I will struggle a lot on Sunday. I will startò back on a track that makes it difficult to overtake, and thatè a problem. Now I aim to at least do better tomorrow", added Sainz.
