A transfer that creates many perplexities.

Marc Marquez in Ducati does not like Livio Suppo. Not because of the eventual good or bad results that the Catalan will obtain riding a Borgo Panigale bike, but even because of the signal that his transfer creates for the entire MotoGP. This, at least, è the belief of the former Honda HRC team manager.

"I believed that Marquez would eventually stay in Honda, and honestly I even hoped for it – are Suppo’s words reported by 'GPOne.com' – From his point of view, however, the choice he made does not surprise me. I think you can see it in two ways, depending on whether you è a fan of him or a detractor of him. The fan may è think that, in order to have fun, he gives up an official bike to race on a year-old satellite. And therefore è brave. Or you canò consider him not grateful to those who made him win so much".

"The point è that already some people are protesting now because of the Ducati overpower,” Suppo pointed out.

But next year, after Marquez moves, it could be even higher. Surely the fans will be happy, because they will understand if the riders who win today are really the strongest or if Marc will beat them. But from a more general point of view, the other houses will struggle even more to get into the top 10. If I were in the organizers of the MotoGP world championship, I would be worried".

Suppo, however, does not criticize né Honda né Marquez for the decision to part ways: "If a rider no longer wants to run with your bike, holding him back hurts both of you. And if Marc races without believing it, you risk image damage for everyone. He objectively tried, he tried hard and he also fell often. He probably got to a point where he just wanted to be competitive again. And I understand that".
