Monza, Raffaele Palladino speaks out on Papu Gomez
Raffaele Palladino doesn’t dodge questions about Papu
It's a charged Monza, looking for its fifth consecutive useful result, the one that comes to Sunday's lunch match' against Salernitana. It does so, among other things, with an extra man, Papu Gomez, who in last Monday’s success against Sassuolo has already tried to get into rhythm, playing the last 15' of the challenge won 1-0 by the Brianzoli.
Speaking at a press conference, the biancorosso coach Raffaele Palladino said he could not assure a starting role for the Argentine, specifying, however, that Gomez "è; is available, is working for the team and gives good feelings".
"What I like most about him,” Palladino added, “is that he is a champion in the head and can play in every game. That's why after a couple of training sessions è immediately managed to find space". Gomez, who entered at 75' of Sassuolo-Monza, had not played an official match since Aug. 3, his last appearance with the Sevilla jersey in a friendly (1-0 against Betis).
Since then first a series of benches, then the consensual termination of his contract and the landing at Monza. Papu è returned to Italy almost three years later: it was January 26, 2021, in fact, when he moved permanently to Andalusia.
