Cagliari, Fabio Liverani points out his people’s big trouble

Thanks to goals scored by Luvumbo and Deiola, Cagliari managed to beat Brescia despite Olzer’s late goal. The Rossoblù thus shorten the distance in the standings and rise to 14 points, -2 from the Rondinelle.

Fabio Liverani in the press conference commented on the match as follows, “I only see the glass full regardless, we did well and could have even made it 3-0. There was a doubt about the penalty, a little something we left and I’m sorry about the goal we conceded but I don’t remember any saves by Radunovic today. Deiola had a great game, he entered the box many times, he scored and could have scored another, Millico could have scored. We conceded the goal in the recovery but up to that point I don’t remember suffering. We defended and went down and didn’t restart well a few times.”

“I’m happy for the boys, they gave value to the draw in Genoa and they have awareness in their means, confidence is fundamental. In addition to technical-tactical work there is mental work to be done and we are improving on that, to win championships we have to be one of the best defenses but we have to improve. Balance and will we have them, we have to grow in self-confidence and that is the hard part when you are reborn after an earthquake. It’s not easy, the head is harder than the legs, but these competitions instill self-esteem and these are players who can aspire to win.”

The Sardinians’ helmsman then wanted to send a message to his strikers, “I sell so many strikers there will always be someone who will have to sit out and you will ask me why he played one and not the other. I have an exceptional group. It’s clear that from the outside creating formation ideas is more of a table game but it’s different from the players’ moments. They gave me very good answers and I needed Falco to clean up plays on a technical level and someone like Luvumbo to attack the depth. Zito had a very good match.”
