VR46, race against time for Marco Bezzecchi
Marco Bezzecchi is flying to'Indonesia where he is scheduled to take part in this weekend's Indonesia Grand Prix, the 15th round of the season, which is being raced on the Mandalika track. The Rimini-born centaur, the victim of a crash in training at the Tavullia Motor Ranch last Saturday afternoon, è injured his right collarbone.
Having undergone’surgery to reduce the injury at the UNIMORE Orthopedics and Traumatology Operating Unit, Marco, currently third in the overall standings with 265 points, is preparing for a race against time to get on his Ducati Desmosedici GP for the first free practice, with the hope of getting the green light for the race, when he will show up at the final medical check at the circuit.
"It will be a real race against time to try to be on track Friday morning in Mandalika,” he admitted to the official channels of the Mooney VR46 Racing Team. The’injury was not wanted, especially at this decisive moment of the season. Immediately after the’surgery, the possibility of trying to participate in the race came up. We waited 48 hours and after the last medical consultations and a very intense physiotherapy program until the last minute before the start, with the team, we decided to try to reach Indonesia to have the fit to race. It won’t be easy, it will be an uphill weekend and really challenging, but I would like to be on track and try. A really thank you then to the team, the medical team, the Academy and all the fans who have supported me these days, I have received so many messages of love and support. They have definitely given an extra chargeù".
