Kaylee McKeown’s world record in the women’s 50 backstroke

In the’last World Cup act held in Budapest Kaylee McKeown improved the world record in the women’s 50 backstroke.

The 22-year-old Australian swam in 26”86, lowering by 12 hundredths the 26”98 set by China’s Xiang Liu at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta.

McKeown’s palmares è is very rich: three world golds in the 50, 100 and 200 backstroke at this year’s Fukuoka event, of which è she was voted best swimmer, plus another rainbow gold at Budapest 2022 in the 200, but also three Olympic golds at the Tokyo 2020 Games in the 100, 200 and mixed staph.
