Jannik Sinner, revenge accomplished with Ben Shelton: now the derby
Jannik Sinner beats Ben Shelton: in the round of 16 there'è Lorenzo Sonego
Jannik Sinner takes his revenge against Ben Shelton and avenges the knockout he suffered in Shanghai by eliminating the American from the ATP tournament in Vienna: the South Tyrolean, against an opponent who in any case at the level of play confirms that he is in good shape, wins 7-6(2), 7-5, in one hour and forty-five minutes of play.
Both contenders leave nothing to chance from the first bars: in the first set no one manages to win a game on the opponent's serve, and it takes a tie-break bordering on perfection for Sinner, who ups the tempo and wins the first fraction.
In the next set, the script seems to repeat itself, but in the eleventh game the longed-for break finally arrives: it is Sinner himself who wins it, and then on his own serve he closes the match and thus gains access to the round of 16 of the Austrian tournament.
In the round of 16 for Sinner will be a derby: in fact, the scoreboard offers the challenge against Lorenzo Sonego, who on Tuesday got the better of Francisco Cerundolo, beating him 6-4, 5-7, 6-2.
