Paolo Bertolucci impressed by Jannik Sinner

After taking a rematch with Ben Shelton in the first round of the Vienna ATP 500, Jannik Sinner also beat Lorenzo Sonego in his round of 16 match at the Erste Bank Open. The South Tyrolean tennis player defeated the Piedmontese player for the fourth time in as many matches, boasting an incredible recodi of 11 wins out of 11 in challenges against Italian tennis players.

Paolo Bertolucci wanted to highlight Sinner’s performance with a tweet: "Beyond the score what impresses in Jannik Sinner is the continuous technical and tactical progress. The class he releases in the important points è an absolute hallmark".

With the win over Sonego, Sinner has pulled off a pass to the quarterfinals where he will face the U.S. Frances Tiafoe, the seventh seed in the seeding. The two also faced each other in Vienna last year (in that case in the semifinals, ed.), when Tiafoe triumphed in the third set.
