Terrible tragedy on ice hockey field: dead Adam Johnson

Terrible tragedy in ice hockey: è Adam Johnson, a former U.S. NHL player, died at the age of 29 after a terrible game collision occurred during a game between the Sheffield Steelers and the Nottingham Panthers, valid for the British Ice Hockey Cup.

Doctors immediately intervened to stop the bleeding and resuscitate him, but rushed to the hospital è he was pronounced dead a few hours later. The game è was immediately stopped and spectators in shock asked to leave the arena, while all scheduled games over the weekend were postponed.

"We lost an extraordinary player, a great teammate and an’incredible person who had his whole life ahead", è the Panthers’ statement.

Adam Johnson, originally from Minnesota, wore the Pittsburgh Penguins jersey in the NHL, and later played for the Malmoe Redhawks in Sweden and the Augsburger Panther in Germany.
