Jannik Sinner, skips doubles match against Novak Djokovic
No doubles at Paris-Bercy for Jannik Sinner
It's skipped practically at the last minute the long-awaited doubles match, in Paris-Bercy, that would have pitted Jannik Sinner and Stan Wawrinka on one side and Novak Djokovic and Miomir Kecmanovic on the other. The match was to be played around 3:30 p.m. in the setting of the French Masters 1000 tournament.
The forfeit of the Italian/Swiss pair has no official reasons for now: Sinner, on 'X' (ex-Twitter) posted early Tuesday afternoon a couple of photos showing him in practice, while Wawrinka, back from the singles draw match against Thiem, which ended at 2.20 a.m. tonight, made no statement on the matter.
According to the updated tournament scoreboard, Sinner and Wawrinka will be replaced by Ecuador's Gonzalo Escobar and Kazakhstan's Aleksandr Nedonyesov: they will face the two Serbian athletes and play for qualification to the round of 16.
