Cagliari-Genoa 2-1
The 3 p.m. Sunday match of the 11th day of Serie A ended with a victory for Cagliari, which defeated Genoa 2-1 at the Unipol Domus, centering the second consecutive victory in the league.
Balanced first half with an opportunity on each side in the final: at 36’ Vasquez gives the hosts the shivers with a nice diagonal shot that hits the crossbar; three minutes later Luvumbo scores the goal of the lead for the Rossoblù but it is annulled for offside.
It all happens in the second half: on 48' the Sardinians take the lead with a goal by newcomer Viola, who beats Martinez with a powerful low left-footed shot; three minutes later Gudmundsson evens the score in acrobatics, after a mistake by Goldaniga. At 69' the Rossoblù went ahead again with Zappa, who took advantage of Petagna s filtering pass and beat the Grifone goalkeeper at the first post with a precise right-footed shot, signing the final 2-1.
Cagliari thus exits the relegation zone, moving up to 17th place, on 9 points, while Genoa remains stuck at 11, in 15th position.
