Leonardo Bonucci speaks out about his Azzurri ambitions
Leonardo Bonucci doesn’t want to extinguish the blue dream
On the eve of the Champions League match between his Union Berlin and Napoli, scheduled to take place at the 'Maradona' on Wednesday evening, Leonardo Bonucci also spoke to the microphones of 'Sky Sport' about his dream of rejoining the national team, and his hope to take the field at Euro 2024 to defend the title he won in the summer of 2021.
"I won't close my career in Italy,” said the defender, who in the national team collected, between 2010 and 2023, 121 appearances while also scoring 8 goals. I hope to end my experience with the Azzurri jersey at the next European Championship".
Then the former Juventus footballer spoke about his adventure in the German capital, which began at the level of results in a far from happy way. "In Berlin my è a life experience,” Bonucci said, “hopefully the one in Naples will be the night that changes the season".
Union Berlin, which last year managed to finish the Bundesliga in fourth place, is going through a seemingly endless crisis: the last success came last Aug. 26 against Darmstadt, since then between the league and Champions League there have been as many as 12 defeats in as many matches played.
