Daniil Medvedev in love with Turin
Medvedev and the "special" praise to Turin: "I love these camps!"
È a very debonair Daniil Medvedev the one who comes in front of the microphones: "Zverev will cheer for me? È normal, I would also do the same".
As is often the case, Daniil Medvedev does not disappoint at press conferences, representing one of the funniest characters the ATP circuit can count on. "È fantastic to be in the semifinals" – said the Russian, already qualified, after his victory over Alexander Zverev. The German will now have to beat Rublev and hope Medvedev does the same with Alcaraz to qualify, and in his press conference, he jokingly announced that he will be Daniil’s No. 1 fan at Friday’s match.
"È normal, I would also do the same if I were in his situation" – Medvedev admitted. "We all want to move forward and continue in the tournament. I personally will try to give my best against Alcaraz. Of course if it doesn’t end in the tie-break of the third it would be better, but I certainly won’t go into the court lightly, otherwise I would lose all the match rhythm gained in these days" – recounted the world No. 3.
Space also for a nice remark about the court, which is very wide and on which Medvedev is very well placed, given his propensity to respond from far away. "I definitely like this court a lot, I love it! The first time I practiced here è was with Sinner and I am to respond far away, practically where the line judges are!" – said Medvedev laughing.
"You almost risk the ball bouncing twice before you get there, but overall I like it when there’è so much space. There are also players who like to stand with their feet almost on the baseline and for them nothing would change, but I really like the Turin court because of this aspect, I feel I can express myself at my best" – concluded Daniil.
