In the mostù pointless match of the ATP Finals in Turin as the two main players are already eliminated, Germany’s Alexander Zverev beat Russia’s Andrey Rublev with a double 6-4 win in just over an hour and 40 minutes of play.
Rublev immediately went ahead by a break by snatching service from Zverev in the second game, but he immediately gave it back. The German has two break points in the seventh game but does not exploit them, however he snatches the serve from the Russian after a rather long game at 4-4, goes to serve for the set, saves himself from 0-30 and with four consecutive points pockets the first partial.
Second set without break balls until the seventh game, when è Zverev snatched the serve from Rublev at the second opportunity and then held the two concluding serves without too much trouble.
