Las Vegas, out of the roulette comes Charles Leclerc

Formula 1, the times

Charles Leclerc è managed to close in the lead in the second free practice session of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, the 21st and penultimate event of the 2023 Formula One World Championship, with Carlos Sainz following closely behind.

The night on the Nevada city track è was very complicated: in fact, FP1 è lasted only 8 minutes due to a poorly protected manhole cover, which caused major damage on many cars, including Carlos Sainz’s car – which suffered damage to the gearbox, engine, seat and flat bottom.

To solve this serious problem, FP2 è was postponed by more than two hours, starting at 11:30 a.m. Italian time (i.e., 2:30 a.m. in the gambling capital) and lasting 90 minutes instead of the scheduled 60, to make up for the time lost during the first round. Weather conditions were not favorable for the drivers, as expected. With only 13°C atmospheric temperature, 15°C on the asphalt and tires that had to be warmed up to avoid grainning, everyone was able to try the Las Vegas Strip Circuit to get a better understanding of it, which è was proven to be one of the fastest on the calendar thanks to its very long straights.
